Veena’s improvisation workshops open students’ imagination and spontaneity.

There is no pressure to 'be funny’ but rather the focus will be on learning how to free your mind, unleash your imagination, and release your spontaneity.

“Good improvisers seem telepathic; everything looks pre-arranged, This is because they accept all offers made—which is something no ‘normal’ person would do.”  Keith Johnstone

Improv for Actor classes will focus on valuable tools to assist you in auditions, scene study, and working on set.

"The improviser who does not tell STORIES, is chained to the treadmill of always needing a better joke." Keith Johnstone

Women on the Move

Every form of expression has it's own style of  language. Music has notation, writing has grammar and even dance has it's own movement vocabulary.  In this experiential class, people will develop an understanding of movement concepts some of which involve space, time, and relationships. These concepts are the building blocks for movement. These classes will explore dance as a nonverbal and artistic language, and students will be introduced to the creative process involved when using movement in many styles and forms. The aim of all this is to find new inroads to our creative selves. Dance/movement structures will be forwarded, attempted, discarded and sometimes returned to for expansion. Opportunity will be given to utilize the art of improvisation as a way of discovering movement language and its importance for skills for teaching and life.

Pimon Martell

Argentine tango found me in the Summer of 2006. This art form was filling a need since I left the Theatre in my home Thailand. From that day on I took weekly classes from local instructor Francis (El Centro) over 6 months, attended 3-4 workshops a year with Susana Miller (Argentina), Alicia Pons (Argentina), Robert Hauk (Portland) Pimon has been to Buenos Aires to participate in the Milongueando 2010. She also took many classes with local instructors. She continues learning Tango in different styles & technique from a lot of instructors from around the world. As a follower she believes: to learn every style will help her adapt her to many different leaders. As a leader, when Music is right, she can bring happiness to another friend & herself. After she took many workshop with Semiral, she started assisting the classes and got inspired to teach. With Semiral's support Pimon was ready and started teaching tango in October 2012. While feeling happy to contribute other dancer's skills, teaching also helps me improve my skills and keeps my passion for TANGO growing even more.

Method of Modern Movement

A conditioning class that works through a flow of movements: where fitness meets the foundation of classical dance techniques with a Latin flare celebrating Janelle and Jocelyn's heritage. A full body workout that works on stability, flexibility, strength, endurance, and technique.

MOMM CLASS STRUCTURE

The class starts in a circle. The circle symbolizes unison and encouragement. The class begins with a warm-up jog around the room and then a flow of conditioning movements and exercises on the mat. The second half of the class consists of dance combinations; at the barre, and/or in the center and across the floor. The second part of class is different than other classes. It is structured base on the students needs and desires; it could be more about dance or more conditioning. Latin music brings an element of high energy and positive vibes. MoMM's energy is inviting and rejuvenating. You'll feel more in tune with your body.
